Insurance companies in the state of New York have come together to fight insurance fraud as the New York Alliance Against Insurance Fraud. The more than 100 members of the Alliance are focused on raising public awareness of insurance forms in all its varieties, the costs to consumers and the consequences to perpetrators. The Alliance Against Insurance Fraud, formally announced in January 2000, works in cooperation with the New York Insurance Department Fraud Bureau, the Insurance Department, Governor’s Office and NY State Legislature and is managed by the New York Insurance Association. All insurance companies operating within the state of New York are encouraged to become active members of the Alliance.
